Home of the Family Triad

Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad

Last night, the three of us went out. Yes, all three of us. We started at Woofs. Usually, Trident sponsors this night, but no one was to be found. Good for us, since that saved us six dollars in cover charge. But, August forgot his cigarettes, so I spent the six bucks on the cigarette machine. August was expecting some people he met online to meet him at Woofs. Robert expected a friend from Trident. Robert was disappointed, and August was surprised. The two of them spent time talking to friends and acquaintences, and sometimes, drunken strangers. The drunken strangers won, annoyingly, so we left for Exile.

Turmoil : Return of the prodigal and reconciliation

Setting - March 2006

During tax season, I had several situations thrust upon ME as an Office Manager for a local seasonal office of a tax and accounting firm. These would not come one at a time, but several concurrently, making the job far from boring. Anything and everything from client care issues, to scheduling of employees, to workplace issues, to training, to District Management ad hoc requests. I would, on more than one such occasion say that there is too much turmoil that comes with this job. And having said that, would then go to work, assigning priority to the tasks at hand, delegating those that can be done by subordinates and personally handling those that required the attention of the manager.

Fun stuff.

Makes for long days that turn into longer nights. I would be exhausted at the end of the day, but content that a lot had been accomplished.

[Just a little turmoil to see if I am paying attention.]

Departure

In the relative calm of this hectic professional life, actually in the middle of tax season, comes the departure of one of this Leather Family.

It has been a while....

To be sure, it has been a conscious choice to work on other things than posting periodically. The house is better organized and is being kept clean, to be sure. However, this kind of defeats the purpose of the website and the blog. Perhaps when the effort is in the final stages (more or less) I will have the boy post a "virtual tour" of this home WE/we call Triad House. Between now and then, I would doubt there is much interest in housekeeping by readers of this website.

Fur 'n Foam at the Exile

Master Robert decided that we were going to the Exile tonight. That meant dressing up on formal leather. For me, it's leather pants, vest, arm and wrist bands, glove and collar. For Master Robert, it was a harness, arm and wrist bands, and chaps. We left after 10, hoping not to be the first ones there. We weren't. And we also weren't prepared for tonight's festivities at the Exile.

Live at Woofs

Tonight, I'm typing this blog at the bear bar in Columbus -- Woofs. I'm doing this for two reasons -- one to see if I can type in the dark -- and two because I'm bored.

Woofs has wireless internet with two computers. Most usage I've seen on the computers has been surfing the bear sites. I find this strange, since there are lots of bears at Woofs.

Kingdom Hearts II finished

I followed through with my decision and, surprisingly, quickly finished Kingdom Hearts II. Sora's level was in the seventies, so I guess that's why. The ending was long -- too long -- but enjoyable, with the final scene hinting of another sequel.

So, I'm going to take a break from gaming before starting my next game -- Final Fantasy X-2. I need to finish this game before getting Final Fantasy XII. This will be the fifth or sixth time I've started this game. The last time, I got to a great part of the story, but circumstances (aka work) pulled me away from it. So, back to Chapter One.

Finishing without Completing

I'm currently playing Kingdom Hearts II and am at a major decision in the game playing. Kingdom Hearts II like most Square-Enix games has many sidequests and missions. So, I could continue playing the game, building up Sora, Donald and Goofy, for hours and hours and hours. Or I could attempt to defeat the final boss and pray that I've gotten Sora up to the appropriate level.

I still have many other games to play - I really want to get into Final Fantasy X-2 and Resident Evil 4. Although I do appreciate the additional gaming, it doesn't help me on my goal of finishing most of the games that I have.
